Alekos Fassianos was born in Athens on October 25, 1935 next to the Church of the Holy Apostles

He is admitted to the Athens School of Fine Arts in the studio of Professor Yiannis Moralis .

From 1960 to 1963, a scholarship from the French Government allowed him to study the technique of lithography in Paris in professor Clairin's studio.

He began making costumes for Alexis Solomos at the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, as well as for the National Theater, and the Karolos Koun Theater, etc

From 1967 to 1974, Greece was ruled by the dictatorship of the Colonels. During this period Fassianos lived in Paris

In 1968 he had a show in Munich and a year later another in Hamburg. Simultaneously, a vibrant collaboration began with Paul Facchetti, who organized two solo exhibitions for Fassianos in his galleries in Paris and in Zurich.

In Paris he met eminent personalities the likes of Louis Aragon, Hamid Fouladvind, André Laude, Fernando Arrabal, Bruno Roy, the editor of Fata Morgana, with whom he would collaborate systematically

In February 1983 Blaise Gautier organized a monograph presentation at the Centre Pompidou as part of the "Revue parlée" sponsored cultural events.

In 1999 he was honored by the Athens Academy. In 2000 he was invited to paint two large murals for the Metaxourgio Station of the Athens Metro.

In 2013 he becomes an Officer of the Legion of Honor by the French Ambassador

A retrospective exhibition of his work takes place at the Tamaris Villa in France and a solo exhibition in Tokyo, Japan.
