In 1999 he was honored by the Athens Academy. In 2000 he was invited to paint two large murals for the Metaxourgio Station of the Athens Metro.

At that time a retrospective exhibition was held at the Paul Valéry Museum in Sète, France organized by André Freises.

Fassianos /adored the town of Sète, because it reminded him of Messolonghi, his mother’s birthplace.

Pierre and Marianne Nahon settled in Saint-Paul-de-Vence and sold their gallery in Paris to Rachlin-Lemarié, where Fassianos would continue to exhibit.In 2000 he had a show at the Villa Kérylos in Beaulieu-sur-Mer with the title “The Mythology of the Everyday”.

In 2001 a retrospective exhibition was mounted at the Château de Chenonceau entitled “The Myth on a Bike”.
