Beauty lies behind what you feel, not behind what you see

Moving walls: a journey of transformations inside the Alekos Fassianos Museum | Educational programme (for children 9-13 years old)

The educational programme draws inspiration from the painter’s personal connection with the Alekos Fassianos Museum, since the building is located in the place where his father’s house once stood, a small, detached house with a courtyard in Agios Pavlos neighbourhood. By approaching the building through the eyes of a painter, students seek connections between painting and architecture, studying and exploring the physical space of the museum with their bodies and senses. They then take on the role of a curator in order to curate a complete art exhibition within the 3D model of the museum (wooden model). Using a miniature camera, they project in live time the imaginary visitor’s journey through the scaled exhibits.

During the program, children discover the painter’s handmade objects while being guided around the museum through an audio narration.

The programme includes:

  • Exploration of the museum both physically and mentally.
  • Designing an art exhibition through a 3D model (wooden maquette)
  • Discovery of the artist’s personal objects
  • Acoustic narration

Children will present their own exhibition with the help of a miniature camera. At the end they will all receive a curator’s certificate.
